Over the last few months life has certainly shown me a variety of twists and turns. Kitty no. 2 was diagnosed with Large Cell Lymphoma. She hung in there, battling on like a little superstar for 8 weeks, but sadly she couldn't fight on any longer and I had to make the hardest decision ever to end her suffering before it got to the point where she was suffering too much.
Understandably, I feel, this period of time had an impact on my writing and productivity. Initially I was writing while my little girl slept, or curled up on my lap having a cuddle, but as time wore on, I wanted to spend every second I could with her. So I did.
Now she is gone and I am filling the void by hiding in my writing mostly. I have started a little side-project to share with the world how beautiful and sweet she was and tell tales of all the mischief she got up to.
And on a more positive note, one of my short stories has been accepted into a crime anthology for Fox Spirit Books due out in 2016. I am beyond chuffed! Watch this space for more details.
Life certainly puts in the twists and turns and I am hoping that the rest of this year sees a more upward trajectory. If you would like to light a candle for my little girl, please do feel free to do so. She was such a sweet little thing and I would love to see the light she brought me spread far and wide.
